Wednesday Nov. 15 : Spot had her drains removed from the surgery site and is doing well... I have asked if we can pick her up a little earlier just to ease some of the panic tomorrow night... there is still a slight chance that she won't get to come home tomorrow, but since we are planning to take her directly to her vets that should make the chance even slighter. She is on antibiotics for 2 weeks and some painkillers for a few more days. She got some get well cards in the mail today that I have posted on the Thank You page. Quite a few people have stepped up to help us financially and we truly do appreciate that.
Thursday Nov. 16 : I just talked to Dr.
Blaeser (8:30am) and Spot is definitely going home today!! We get to pick
her up at 3 so that will make the rest of the afternoon/evening easier to
deal with (plus it will give us some extra time to spend with her after we
get her to her vet). The good news is Spot is going to be 'home' the
bad news is we are leaving in the morning for a week... I know that she
will get great care at the vet while we are gone, but we will now have to
go without her for a whole 'nother week! But she will be safe and
happy with all of them, & I have a feeling they are looking forward to
her visit.
Update : Spot is at her vet clinic now and will stay there until we
come back on Saturday the 25th... They were very happy to see her
and she was trying to stand up and she looked so cute, even though she was
all shaved and stuff. We are really going to miss her, but at least
we know she is in good hands... and they are going to let us pick
her up Saturday when we get back instead of having to wait until Monday ,
even though we will get home from our trip after office hours (did I
mention how cool our Vet is??)
Saturday Nov. 25 : Guess who is home today!!! Spot!! We picked her up around 6pm and then went to some friends house to hang out for the evening. She was wonderful, making a circuit around the room for attention. We came home & she slept in her crate next to the bed because we aren't yet comfortable with her jumping up & down when we can't watch her.
Sunday Nov. 26 : Spot slept fine in her kennel although I did have to put her silly cone collar on so she would stop licking her leg. she got in the bed with us for a few minutes after we woke up. while I went to the corner store for coffee she leaped off the bed & ran down the stairs. When my husband caught up with her she just looked at him like, what did I do wrong? Currently she is sleeping on my lap wrapped in a blankie, cause like she wasn't already always cold now she is half shaved too. But we are so happy to have her home!!
